I just got Adobe PhotoShop CS5 and I'm having some trouble with it. I really want to learn to make animations with it. I keep having to use ImageReady 7 and I'd rather uninstall it now and have some extra space in my hard drive. So here's my question, how can I make animation gif.s on photoshop cs5? or how can I import a folder as frames (layers) like you can do on ImageReady? Anything helps. Please please please this is giving me a major headache. I'm getting very frustrated with it. Current Mood: frustrated

Hey.. I'm a beginner. I was wondering about word brushes.. how can you make brushes say what you want them to say? and how do you get the odd fonts and such? I feel dumb asking this, but I have NO idea. Thank you so much! x

Um. I need help please. I have no idea why, but for some reason, my Photoshop brushes aren't working. o_o I tried using them, and they just...don't work. Everything else seems to being working correctly except those. o.O Any idea what could be wrong?

PS CS, Or PS CS Standard Upgrade, Or Creative Suite 2 Standard Upgrade...
Sorry, this probably sounds like a dumb question, but I'm looking to get PS CS. I went online to check which stores carry it, and I was bombarded with vague descriptions of different software.
I /used/ to have PS6, but I don't have the CD, and my computer was wiped (to get rid of all the adware-spyware)
So; do I buy Photoshop CS2, Photoshop CS2 Standard Upgrade (is this an add-on to CS?), or Creative Suite 2 (Uhh...I really don't want to have to get this one....its WAY out of my price range =S
Also, does anyone know of another place where I could buy it, WITHOUT buying it online?? Current Mood: sick

My version of Photoshop CS seems to have problems handling colours. I enter a specific hex code, and when I upload it the colour is every so slightly paler than I wanted it to be. I know it's some mismatch in colour management, and I've fixed it before (you guys probably helped me!) but I can't remember what to do. Any ideas how I get PCS to stop messing up colours?

PS7 CS question about resizing an image
Hi, I hope somoene can help with this...
Occasionally when I resize an image I end up with a faded 1px wide border around the image. For example, the icon I've used on this post.
If you zoom in on it, you can clearly see the line around the outside. It also means that, at normal size, the edges don't look as crisp.
At first I thought it was due to the cropping process, and tried it with an entirely black photoshop image. When I cropped it to 100x100 it didn't show up. I started again with the completely black image, and when I resized it to 100x100 that damn faded line around the outside appeared. Gah!
It doesn't happen with every image, but it's driving me nuts. I was wondering if there was something I could do, or that I was doing wrong?

So I have no idea what I'm doing. I have never
made an icon before nor have I ever used Photoshop. But, I got Photoshop CS the other day and I have no idea what I'm doing.
I got a ton of brushes and I know how to load them but I guess I just don't know how to use them right.
I know, I'm dumb. LOL.
Anyways, does anyone know of a good tutorial that goes, step by step, how to use a brush for someone in my position?
Thanks much. Current Mood: ditzy

I have been having some trouble with the selection tool. Whenever I try to select something, it says that no more than %50 of the pixels were selected and the edges of the selection wont be visible. Then, when I go to paste it, it is only faint and not the regular picture. I have been able to get around it with using the magic wand tool, but I cant do anything other than "select all".
If anybody knows whats going on I be grateful. Current Mood: confused

I have a question about Adobe ImageReady. Does anyone know if you can have different animation effects? Like in Animation Shop, you can have like a "wipeout", "page turn", "dissolve", etc. effect for the transition from one layer to the next. I was just wondering if ImageReady just does a regular animation without any different effects. Any help will be appreciated. =)

I was wondering, does anyone know where to find a tutorial or anything on how to make a background that looks like a piece of parchment? With curled edges and everything? On similar note, does anyone know how to make parts of an image transparent, like I've seen in some icons before? Thanks..
Hi, newbie here, Just wondering if anybody knows any good sites for patterns. I cant find any at all. :S Current Mood: hopeful

Hey! Okay, I have a question that's really been bothering me.
I went crazy when I first got photoshop and downloaded tons
of brushs...that I now have deemed: "ew." So, while chosing to procrastinate...(hah, homework) I deleted
over half of them and was *quite* proud of myslef. ...the next day when I opened up the Photoshop CS they were ALL BACK!!! *sigh*
How do I sort of "save changes as" or whatever for brushes - I do not want this to happen again!!
Thank you all so much!

Tutorial--Using Image Ready
I'm soo nervous this is my first EVER tutorial. But I know alot of people want to know, so here goes.
You don't have to want to know how to make this particular icon, but in going over how to make it kind of shows you the basics in image ready so later you can experiment more with it and make your own stuff.
I'll be making this very simple
text animation icon:
this is for people who already have good knowledge of photoshop.( tutorial this wayCollapse )

Hey! Okay...I feel really silly about this...but I have so many questions! I've scanned through the memories - and I apologiese in advance if I've completly missed these questions already asked and answered! =D I use Photoshop CS, so I'd espically appreciate answers from people who know this program.
1. I've figured out how to do gradients (yay, britishness!!!) but...I'm struggling with those light textures. I'm assuming you download them in like you do brushes and gradients...but...I can't seem to find how!!!
2. Layers. I am so confused by this concept it's ridiculous. I know I'm wrong, but this is my problem: I can only add layers of the same image, ie: duplicating it. But...aaah!!! I know that's not true! It's espically frustrading, because even the easiest programs allow people to make animinated icons that are like *black screen with writing* *image*, etc, but I can't do that because I need to have them all as layers to move into ImageReady. If I try to open the picture, or make the black screen it opens it is another
set of layers. So...I really don't know what on earth I'm doing!!!
3. My sister went brushdownloading happy in my Photoshop (grr) - how do I *delete* brushes?!?!? Basically - clean out my brush thing.
I know these questions seem silly to you fantabulous graphic people...sorry!!! But, if you could point me in the correct direction as far as these questions are concerned I would be so
gratefull! It's SO frustrading not to be able to do anything in a program you know is supposed to be really nice. *le sigh* ...okay, Thanks!!! =DD

I have a picture that I'm drying different VERY BASIC effects on. When I add some distortion and alter the color a bit, Photoshop is only allowing me to save it as a TIF, not a JPEG. I'm a very novice user.....I can't imagine that I'm doing anything so profound thats altering it that much. Any ideas or tips?
